Summer Soccer School 23 - 26 July

Some months ago I tested the water of support for an outreach event in the summer, at Bishop Carpenter School in North Newington, and several people indicated that they could help. It’s now time to stand up and be counted!

You will see from the jobs advertised below that many of them are not arduous, can be seated, but they DO need to be covered if the event is to go well. Please will YOU let me know what you are able to do? 1 day of support from a lot of people will be extremely valuable. Several days support will be amazing.

  • Coaching assistants. 5 required all day, ideally for whole course or daily (Wednesday - Saturday). Role: to actively support coach, encourage children, don’t have to love football, just the kids!
  • Registration. 5/6 required 9.00 – 10.00 every day. Role: to welcome parents and children each day and complete the register.
  • Loo ladies / men. Minimum 2 required all day, or on rota. Role: to take children to loo. CRB checked people vital for this – but we can get you checked if you could do this job and are not yet checked.
  • First Aider. 1 required all day or on a rota. Role: to deal with minor bumps and bruises and record in accident book. Qualification not necessary as Rob is, but need someone competent with first aid.

Resources:

  • 6 small gazebos all week. Please let me know if you have one of these you could loan us.
  • Main course meals (puddings too would be very nice!) For 10. Wednesday - Saturday please, delivered to NN school (before 4.00) or Broughton Grounds Farm (after 4.00)
  • Saturday, 26 July. Family Fun Day and World Cup Finals. Lots of opportunity for hospitality. It would be wonderful were we as a Benefice able to offer to the 50 or more families we will make contact with – families who otherwise might not have much if any church affiliation – a really welcoming….. Coffee and donuts, or simple BBQ……ready-made picnic……and enough of US present to welcome them, support the children, be cheerful and happy.
