Snow report

Snowman

I have just been out in my little car for a tour of the Benefice so I can "speak with authority" about the road conditions etc.

The Banbury-Shipston road is passable, as is the North Newington-Epwell road; neither road is CLEAR, but with care, passable. Mind you, I encountered the seemingly standard style of Oxfordshire driving with people right up my....hatchback, and overtaking at inappropriate places! The side roads are NOT clear and are largely compacted snow which is now, obviously, polished ice. Church paths, steps and so on are all snowy. I know people are going to valiantly clear then during the day but they will still be icy in the morning.

SO

  1. there will NOT be an 8am HC at Tadmarton
  2. Swalcliffe 9.30 CANCELLED
  3. Shutford 9.30 Family Service being led by Ken Jeffs
  4. John, if in the area rather than marooned in London, will be able in his Land Rover to get to Epwell for 9.45. Congregation TAKE CARE on icy paths.
  5. Liz leading a Village Service at Tadmarton at 11am. MIND the icy paths
  6. Ronald leading HC at Broughton at 11am. If you are going to Broughton by car please consider HOW will you get back UP the hill by the pub? There will be no problem getting DOWN! I am going to park and use the footpath. PLEASE TAKE CARE.
  7. United Service at Sibford Methodist Chapel has been CANCELLED

If YOU are reader, organist, coffee-maker, sidesman etc please consider yourself STOOD DOWN; if you get there, wonderful; if you don't, we shall manage. Please phone round this information so that everyone knows what is going on, and specially, NOT to arrive at Taddy for an 8am, or Swalcliffe at all.

Best wishes to all

Ronald - now going to dig out my drive so I can get the car off the road; it got stuck immediately I tried to reverse up the drive!
