Thanks

I am probably the only person who travels round to each and every one of our six churches regularly, and I would like to say Thank you most wholeheartedly to all those who arrange such beautiful flowers. The arrangements for Easter this year were superb – and lasted for the best part of three weeks. What a skilful lot you are!

And thanks too are due to our splendid musicians, most specially the organists and the Benefice Choir under Jim Wilson’s direction. Their singing on Good Friday at the 7pm Devotional Service was excellent, and they then produced anthems for both Easter Sunday and the Sunday following. Bravo!

Sadly we have had three funerals at Tadmarton in fairly swift succession. Almost by chance we had bells rung for Dinah, as her interment of ashes coincided with bell practice. Then the ringers turned out for Daphne as her husband Doug used to be Bell Captain, finally Robin Rew’s family requested a “merry peal” as they gathered to celebrate his life. It has been lovely to have the bells on these sombre occasions, and their celebratory sound is wonderful – for we who believe and trust in God truly do have something to celebrate when our earthly life ends but our eternal life with God continues. Thanks to Lindsay and all her team of ringers.
