Healing – not only for medical professionals

We hear a great deal about wholeness, and even more about mental health issues now. Many of us have health conditions which our GP takes care of. Others are on medication or receiving CBT or other therapies for mental health conditions. Sometimes it seems that there are health issues – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – which the professional medics cannot address, or which do not respond to traditional therapies.

The Church has always considered Healing Ministry to be of great importance. Jesus performed many miracles and both healed and cured people. The Church continues that ministry but concentrates on healing, rather than cure. You may remember the story of the paralysed man who was let down through the roof by his friends. They hoped he’d be cured and would walk again. Jesus saw the man and knew that he really needed to be healed of his sinful past.

On Sunday July 21st at 6pm in Epwell church we shall be holding a service of Healing Prayer to which you are all invited. Some peace and quiet; some hymns; the laying on of hands and anointing with holy oil; prayer for Wholeness and Healing. Maybe you want to come to ask for healing for yourself, or for a loved one, or for the world. Whatever your concern, remember, God hears and answers prayers.
