Who is my neighbour?

I bet you remember the parable of the Good Samaritan? The man beaten up by robbers and left for dead; ignored by the religious leaders but cared for by a man considered racially and religiously “beyond the pale”. And not just patched up a bit and left to get on with it, but taken to an inn, his room paid for, and any further accommodation guaranteed. The act of the Samaritan was an expression of true love – offered because the beaten man was in need. It was a costly act in both time and money.

If you care about the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the world simply because they are human beings like you and me, and because they are in need, then please follow the link below to the Disasters Emergency Committee and make a donation. It will cost you very little in time, and the gift of a fiver, or a tenner, or whatever you might spend on a round of drinks could mean the difference between life and death for one of our neighbours.
