June news

The Castle grounds were a superb backdrop for the biennial Summer Fete, which was blessed with sunny (if windy) weather, huge crowds of people, and about £7,500 profit benefiting the church and North Newington Cricket club. Huge thanks to James Taylor and his organising Team, and to everyone who helped or took part.

At the end of June the Archdeacon of Dorchester held her Visitation Service in church, at which the Church Wardens of the churches in our Deanery were formally sworn in.

Make sure you watch BBC 1 and Antiques Roadshow and see if you catch a glimpse of yourself in the crowds who enjoyed the event in the Castle at the end of June.

We bid “farewell” to the Year 6 Leavers from Bishop Carpenter School at their special service in church on July 16th.

The Summer Soccer School is taking place once again at Bishop Carpenter School. If your son or daughter is interested in enjoying three days of coaching, Bible stories, and lots of fun (July 29-Aug 1) then phone Margaret Taylor asap on 730 315.
