October News

The Christmas Bazaar is on Wednesday 13th November from 5.30pm until 8pm in St Anne’s Church. Less than 6 weeks away! The Epwell Elves have been busy again making a variety of goodies for the event. There will be a selection of stalls including gifts and stocking fillers, homemade cakes & preserves, raffle, chocolate tombola, bottle tombola and more. Entrance is free. Do come along and support this fundraising event. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie and meet and catch up with your neighbours and friends. All the money raised will go towards the upkeep of the church. Any donations of items for the stalls would be very much appreciated, especially chocolate for the children’s tombola or a bottle for the grown-ups tombola, any unwanted gifts. Please let us know if you could bake a cake for the cake stall. Donations can be left in the box on the back pew in the church, delivered to Dawn or Lin (there’s a box at the bottom of the steps at Meadows Edge (opposite the pub), or you can ring Lin (780 369) to arrange delivery/collection. No books or bric a brac this year due to lack of space. Thank you for your support.

Epwell Harvest was a traditional family-centred affair, with input from several of the village youngsters, and an inspiring sermon from Alasdair Lowe who spoke about the real needs of farmers, and the FCN charity. On the day after the Harvest Festival service, the Ark Nursery School came into church with all sorts of pictures and stories, songs, and gifts and delighted their parents and grand-parents with a cheerful half hour of toddler chaos!
