Shutford's Shout

We have a loyal and generous congregation who support our services and fundraising for the church and charities to whom we have given £675 so far this year. Everyone is welcome in church for services or just a few moments of peace and quiet: the churchyard has a seat to rest and watch the world go by and admire the wild flowers! The swallows have returned to the church porch for their summer visit.

People of all ages enjoyed the Beetle Drive in May which raised money for the church with a collection box for Christian Aid at the end of the fund raising week.

The Summer Festival in Shutford Manor Field on 18th June will raise funds for the church and village hall project. Stalls, competitions and refreshments from 1.00pm and live bands from 4.00pm: for more information see shutfordvillage.com.

Julie Hodgkins, PCC secretary, did a sky jump on 22nd May to raise funds for Helen Hodgkins Trust raising more than £500: brave woman!

We have a wedding and wedding blessing at St Martin's this summer and wish both couples every happiness in their married lives.

We have a Messy Church Event in Shutford Village Hall at 4.00pm on 25th June: ideal for young children and their carers. Also, for young teenagers, a weekly Youth Group which meets during school term time at various locations.

There will be a Songs of Praise on July 31st at 4.00pm: this is an informal occasion so please choose a favourite hymn and join us in church for some hearty singing and refreshments afterwards.
