Shutford news

The Harvest Thanksgiving took place on 24th September with the church beautifully decorated with flowers, fruit and vegetables. The following evening a Harvest Supper and Sale was held in Shutford Village Hall when £425 was raised for Katharine House Hospice. The 30 or so villagers present enjoyed a Ploughman`s Supper which was followed by an auction of produce and raffle.

A Beetle Drive will take place in Shutford Village Hall at 4.00pm on 11th November. This is a couple of hours of fun and fellowship with refreshments at the end: cost is a few pounds only with lots of chocolate to be had. People of all ages from across the benefice are welcome.

There will be an Act of Remembrance at the village war memorial at 11.00am on Sunday, 12th November. Later in the day the annual Remembrance Service will be held at 6.00pm in St Martin's Church and Deddington Brass will play for the hymns. The retiring collection will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
