Shutford news

There were only 9 riders and striders visiting St Martin's Church this year, with none from Shutford. However, we were well prepared for the few who did call with refreshments available in church and the pub next door.

The church will be decorated with produce and flowers for the Harvest Festival on 30th September with a Supper and Sale in the village hall the following day. Monies raised will be given to Katharine House Hospice.

Our next church hosted Community Lunch will be on Thursday, 4th October from 12.30pm in Shutford Village Hall, everyone welcome. Good food and company guaranteed.

There will be a Beetle Drive in the village hall on Saturday 10th November at 4.00pm. Join us for an hour or so of family fun: there will be plenty of chocolate and refreshments to finish.

St Martin's Day, 11th November, falls on Remembrance Sunday this year. He is the patron saint of soldiers. As there will be a Benefice event to remember the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice, Shutford's church Service of Remembrance will be at about 11.00am immediately after the wreath laying at the village war memorial.
