April News

Messy Church held on Good Friday morning in the Village Hall was a cheerful and very busy affair, with over 20 children participating. They iced cakes, made Easter biscuits, decorated Easter bonnets, created stained glass windows, decorated crosses, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Fred Lovegrove’s real live Easter chicks who basked in the sunshine outside. We ate Hot Cross Buns and shouted Hosanna, Remember, Crucify, and Alleluia! as we told again the most wonderful story the world has ever heard. Many thanks indeed to all the adult helpers, and to the Mums and Dads for coming with their little people.

Both the Primary School and Sibford School brought their Year 1 children for a tour of the church. The children climbed into the pulpit, stood at the lectern, were “baptised” in the font, dressed in the chasubles and stoles, saw the contents of the safe and thoroughly explored every inch of their church. There are some excellent letters from the children for you to see.
