Sibford news

How wonderful to have Sibford church full to the gunwales on 3rd April with people from all six parishes and lots of villagers from the Sibfords as we celebrated Easter together, and gave thanks for 60 years of marriage between Mary and Norman Nash. We had “the camping anthem” (How lovely are Thy tents) from the choir, real bread made by Mary, and rioja provided by Norman, and a splendid celebration in the village hall afterwards.

Clean and tidy! 9 intrepid clearers and cleaners attacked the south transept and the gallery in Sibford church on Saturday April 9th. We worked hard for two hours and disposed of all sorts of unwanted items, took a trailer of rubbish to the tip, and boxes and boxes of stuff went to the charity shops. Bravo to you cleaners!

Sibford Church Clock: You might well feel that this is a “long running saga” but I hope by the time you read this it has come to an end. The dial and hands, and the bell hammer and new spring, returned home on Tuesday April 19th. Smith of Derby have looked after us (and the clock) really well. It is lovely to see it back in place, and to hear it striking throughout the day and night – I have really missed it.
