Sibford Church Chatter

We celebrated Harvest in style last month with both Afternoon Tea and Sunday Lunch. The tins and dry goods brought to church have all gone to Polly who feeds the homeless in Banbury - so thank you on her behalf to all those who gave food.

Anne Spicer in Thailand writes: Hi Ronald! I have just read your reply to Evey about her holding a coffee morning for us so we can raise some money for our school that we teach in. I am now going in on a Monday afternoon to teach them how to make English cakes and biscuits and they are enjoying it, so thank you for agreeing with Evey to let us have the money from a coffee morning. So please look out for it early in 2017.

We have said Farewell to two locals. Keith Sabin passed away following a long illness, and just a few days later Hugh Sabin passed away, again after years of ill health. Both these local characters were much loved and very much part of Sibford and local farming life for many years. The church was full for both their funerals – a sign of the great love and deep respect in which they were held. We extend our love and sympathy to both families.
