Sibford news

Widen Your Horizons has proved very successful with over 40 people attending each of the five talks. It has been fascinating to hear from Manvir Singh (Sikh), Ansar Hussain (Muslim), Naomi Perry (Jew), Richard Cook (Middle East), and Andrew and James Taylor (Christian) and to realise how much we share. The various delicious foods we have been served also met with considerable approval! Thanks to Gay Harris for all the tea and coffee she made, and to the Sibford Gower Endowed School for their generosity in letting us use the school hall.

Holy Trinity APCM – the annual Church Meeting – will be held on Saturday April 14th at 10am in church. At this meeting we shall elect Churchwardens and PCC Members, also a Deanery Synod Representative. We shall have various reports about the life of the church and decide if we intend to go ahead with revamping the kitchen, installing a toilet, creating some space at the rear of the church, and re-ordering the east end.

Junior Youth Group on Mondays from 6pm to 7pm is the initiative of Bella, Tom and Lucy who are using this aspect of Community Service towards their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. About 13 fairly small people join in and swarm around the church. Their favourite game is Hide and Seek in the dark! All children aged 7 or so and above welcome to attend. Games, board games, party games, sometimes some craft, and sometimes some thinking, all interspersed with far too many sweets.

Coffee Morning Saturday April 28th in church. Coffee and Tea, delicious Eats, Raffle, Bring and Buy and the chance to chat and put the world to rights. Everyone welcome.
