Broughton's Bulletin

At the end of April we held a quiz evening in The Sports and Social Club, North Newington - thank you all who came along. It was a very enjoyable evening and the winners were the Taylor Family.

On May 3rd at the Fellowship Club held in St. Mary's House the speaker was John Giddings who spoke about his war in the Far East. This was a most interesting talk so he has been Invited back for our June meeting when the subject will be The Cold War. If this is of interest to you please come along to St. Mary's House on Tuesday the 7th June at 2.30pm.

On Sunday June 12th, 2pm to 5pm, celebrate HM Queen’s 90th birthday with Afternoon Tea, Cakes, Bouncy Castle and so on at SMH. Everyone warmly invited.

On June 18th in St. Mary's House there be a Strawberry Tea ftom 3pm to 5pm. Lots of strawberries and cream plus cakes and a nice cup of tea.

On July 2nd in Broughton Church there will be a concert with the Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 including a glass of wine and nibbles. Tickets available from Neil Howarth.

The Friendship Club meets on July 5th at 2.30pm in St. Mary's House and once again the speaker will be Mr. John Giddings; this time the subject will be The Royal Observer Corps. Please come along you will be most welcome.

On July 27th in Broughton Church there will be a concert by the Kiev classic accordion duo in aid of the Chernobyl disaster fund for severely handicapped young adults. The duo are superb musicians - please come and support this worthy cause. Free admission with a retiring collection.
