January news

The hustle and bustle of Christmas is now behind us, but to recap on our services over the period, we were all very happy to see so many people in our church, at the crib service as the Christmas story is being told the children help to build the crib and to bring their gifts to be placed round the crib which have all been given to Penhurst Children’s Home in Chipping Norton.

The Carol Service was once again very well attended and enjoyed by all, thanks go to Jim Wilson who organised and arranged the service.

Christmas Day we had the pleasure of welcoming Bishop James who officiated. Also in church was an exhibition of the work done in Africa by the Rotary Club which Alan Wolstencroft organised to show us how the money raised by our donations is being put to use.

The New Year’s Day service, held in the chapel at Broughton Castle, was taken by our rector Ronald Hawkes and was filled to capacity. A big thank you goes to Lord & Lady Saye & Sele for allowing us to use the chapel.
