Epwell news

We held a coffee meeting one Saturday to discuss the care and maintenance of the churchyard. We reached decisions which seem to please most people most of the time; including cutting back the long grass over the edge of walls; keeping all pathways tidy and free from long grass; cutting the area round the War Memorial; allowing saxifrage and wild flowers to set seed in mid-summer before cutting back long growth. We are indebted to a number of people for all they have so far done and all they have agreed to do in the future – Alison, Brian, Conway, and Nigel – THANK YOU Lady and Gentlemen!

Our Mothers Day service takes place on Sunday 6th March at 4.30pm. Please come along and help us celebrate and give thanks, with the promise of flower posies for mums and chocolate cake for everyone else.

The highlight of Lent for many people across the Benefice is the Palm Sunday service (Sunday 20th March) when the procession round the village before the service is traditionally led by Percy the donkey. We shall be gathering in the square at 9.45am ready to process at 10.00am. In Holy Week there will be time for prayer and reflection during the Stations of the Cross service in Epwell, on Wednesday 23rd at 8.00pm.

A will is a dead giveaway. Boom Boom!
