Shutford news

We enjoyed an afternoon Harvest Thanksgiving service, and continued our celebrations with the Harvest Supper in the Hall on the Monday evening. A delicious meal was enjoyed by nearly 50 people, and then Ken masterfully auctioned the huge amount of produce. £500 was raised in total. Well done and thank you to Ken and his merry band of helpers who made this lovely occasion possible.

Souper Saturday on November 28th is not to be missed. From midday, in the Hall, there will be delicious home-made soups, bread, and other lovely things for you to enjoy. The heat will be on, the tables laid, and you can enjoy a chat with your friends too. Everyone is most warmly invited to attend.

On Sunday November 29th, Advent Sunday, we’re going to hold a candle-lit Advent Carol Service at 4pm in church. There may be just a hint of Christmas too, but this will be a peaceful, reflective service, as we begin the great season of Advent. There will be music, carols, poems, and afternoon tea at the conclusion. You are warmly welcomed to join us.
