Swalcliffe news

Several families came to the Pet Service recently, bringing with them what could only be called a whirlwind of excitable dogs! Many thanks to Chris and Angie Dean for bringing along their very aged tortoise and Sid the snake - always the main attraction!

A big thank you to Mike and Barbara Taylor who hosted a hugely successful Al Fresco evening in the garden of their new home in Park Lane. £854 was kindly donated to the church. Also many thanks to everyone who helped with donations of food and to guitarists Richard Atkinson and Peter Bland. Where would anyone rather be than in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside on a fine summer's evening!

Music in Swalcliffe Church. We are looking forward to Ronald and Liz playing some well known organ music at a short Recital on Sunday 13th August starting at 4pm. Music includes pieces by Bach, Couperin, Vivaldi, Yon, Lefebure-Wely and Widor. You are warmly invited to join us for tea and cakes. Please let Gay know numbers by phoning her on 788 427.

On Saturday 21st October at 7.30pm we welcome PIVA, a band of highly skilled musicians playing music from late medieval and Renaissance times on period instruments. This will appeal to lovers of Early and Traditional music. Tickets will go on sale in early September and more details will be found on the Swalcliffe Village website. For further information please phone Colin or Cathy on 788 127.
