Summer Soccer School
Following last years successful Soccer School, we are planning to hold another one this summer.
For those of you who don't know, the aim of Soccer School is to teach the children football skills and the basics of the Christian faith through lots of fun filled activities. Most important, it is a great opportunity to get to know the children and their parents in our villages - and we can all be involved!!
The Course is run by Rob Taylor and a team of coaches, but we need helpers to make this a success. Last summer many of you gave your time and skills and I hope it will be "game on" again this year!
So what help do we need? Here is a list:
- Coach Assistants. Required: all day, one for each team, ideally for whole course or just daily. Role: to support coach, encourage children, you don't have to love football, just the kids!
- Registration. Required: 9.00 - 10.00 every day, ideally one for each team. Role: to welcome parents and children each day and complete daily register
- Loo ladies / men. Required: all day or on a rota, 2 for each day. Role: to take children to loo. Must be DBS (CRB) checked - see Ronald.
- First aider. Required: all day or on a rota Role: to deal with minor bumps and bruises and record in accident book.
- Meals. The coaches stay at Broughton Grounds Farm and a cooked meal and pudding each day for 8 is very much appreciated! (Tuesday - Friday). To be delivered to the farm please.
- Hospitality. Saturday is Family fun day when parents are invited to join in competitions and watch the "World Cup Finals" and award ceremony. This is a great opportunity for us to be there to show hospitality to families and provide refreshments eg. coffee, donuts etc.
If you can help serve in this outreach, however small or want to know more details, please get in touch with either Ronald (780 555) or Margaret Taylor (730 315).
