Broughton news

The Kiev Classic Accordion Duo came to Broughton church on August 6th and were, once again, their truly amazing selves, with a programme including pieces by Widor, Bizet, Khachaturian,  and several lesser known Ukrainian composers. Their technique and musicianship are quite breath-taking. We sent them on their way with £750 towards the Hippokrat Charity which works with the now young adult victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. “It was a most amazing evening of pure magic.” They are truly inspirational, everyone who heard them were blown away by their performance, it was not just their love of music that came across but also their love of their country.

Please note that the Friendship Club will not meet again until OCTOBER.

The Ride & Stride will take place on September 8th. We are looking for people to take part in this annual event either by cycling or walking; sponsor forms
are available from Neil Howarth. Also we are looking for volunteers to man the Church to greet those who are taking part to sign their forms and offer
refreshments.

Our Harvest Festival will be on September 16th at 3pm this is a bring and share tea service which will be taken by Ronald with well known harvest hymns and perhaps an anthem. This is a really nice family occasion.
