Broughton Fete

Thank you to everyone who supported Broughton Fete on 8th June. For the helpers and for everyone who came along to Broughton Castle on the day, thank you. Particular thanks to Lord and Lady Saye and Sele for their generosity in opening up their home; if there is a more stunning venue for a village fete anywhere in the country I’d like to see it! It was fantastic to have Lord Saye and Sele's Blew Regiment of Foote Sealed Knot attend for the first time in 30 years, and the Teddy parachute competition was a superb way to round off the afternoon. Despite months of training the Blinking Owl tug of war team lost out to the Sealed Knot – clearly the class of 1642 knew a thing or two about fitness regimes and dietary planning. Other attractions included sheep shearing, classic cars, a BBQ, teas, Pimm’s, raffle, canoe rides on the moat, stocks, face painting, and lots of stalls and traditional fete games. Thanks again to everyone. We raised £6850.
