Epwell news

It was wonderful to have so many people visiting the church over the festive period for a variety of occasions. Thank you to the Wingfield-Digby family who kindly donated the Christmas tree and to Caroline Long for the beautiful flower arrangements.

Instead of the traditional Christingle service Ronald entertained and informed with stories about St Nicholas, the real Santa Claus, and everyone enjoyed the eyeballs, pickled boys and socks filled with gold coins.

On Christmas Eve, the church was filled first with families watching the Nativity and then, later, with villagers who gathered to sing traditional carols.

The Christmas Day service, led by Liz Hawkes, was well attended. The collections from the St Nicholas, Nativity and Christmas Day services have been combined and will be divided equally between St Anne's, The Children's Society and ROSY (Respite for Oxfordshire's Sick Youngsters).

The PCC would like to wish everyone in the village a Happy New Year.
