Worship in St Martin's Church continued at a gentle pace during the summer with some excellent thought provoking talks and good hymns (some breath-taking) mostly recorded on our electronic organ. We were pleased to welcome the choir and others for Benefice Eucharist on 1st September which more than quadrupling our usual congregation.

The summer flowers in the churchyard have faded and the long grass has been cut with a general tidy up before autumn. A third brood of swallows in the church porch have hatched.

Community Lunches: Thursdays 17 October and 5 December. The Community Lunch in Shutford Village Hall hosted by Ronald and Elisabeth in August was well attended with good food and company.

We had 15 visitors for the annual Ride and Stride on 14th September. We had ‘welcomers’ in church all day and are grateful to them, and to the G & D pub for providing toilet facilities.
