May news

The Queen's Birthday was celebrated in a special Family All Age service on 21st April. There were flags in church and bunting in the churchyard to add to the festivities and a hint of red white and blue in the church f1owers. We also remembered St Georges Day. Cakes and a drink were enjoyed by everyone after the service.

There was also a special All Age service for Pentecost, welcoming the Holy Spirit. We all lit candles and carried them into the churchyard. The next All Age service will be on Father's Day on 16th June at 5.00pm. There could be a half of shandy for any dads in church that afternoon. Our rector Ronald has specially written our new themed services so please try to join us for worship; any parents, and their children in particular, wishing to be involved in their organisation, please make contact.

The Christian Aid Door to Door collection in Shutford has raised about £250 so far. Any one who missed the volunteer who called to collect the envelope can donate online at http://www.caweek.org/envelope.

Shutford Village Fete is on Saturday 22nd June from 2 pm on The Dairyground with the usual stall and sideshows and of course afternoon teas.
