October News

Holy Trinity Advent Fayre will be held in the Village Hall on Saturday Nov 30th from 2pm to 4pm, with all the usual sideshows and stalls, teas, cakes, raffle, and the chance to catch up with friends. Everyone warmly welcomed.

Harvest Festival weekend went with a bang; over 60 people attended our Harvest Supper in the Village Hall enjoying a wonderful selection of delicious main courses and puddings. There was a brief presentation about the Vision of the church - to be physically and financially secure, to serve families, children and young people better, and to reach out to more people in the community - and then some light entertainment including a piano duet, accordions, saxophonists, some poetry, songs and a round for everyone to join in. We left, full of food and good humour. On the Sunday following the church again welcomed over 60 people to the Harvest Thanksgiving, where, of course, we ploughed and scattered, enjoyed a choir anthem, and also had cake kindly provided by the Cake Fairy.

Please do join in the Community Carol Singing on Saturday December 21st; the Ferris group will start near Holmby House at 6pm; the Gower group will start in Barley Close at the same time and we'll sing our way through the village(s) arriving together at the church at 6.45-ish for mulled wine and mince pies and maybe a dramatic reading about the /irth of Jesus. This is something that everyone, young, old, canine, in a buggy or wheelchair, can join in.....bring your lanterns and your voices, your mufflers and boots (and umbrellas if necessary) and have a good old sing!

On Wednesday January 8th 2014 at 7pm the Rain or Shine Theatre Company - who performed Shakespeare so wonderfully outdoors in the summer - are returning to bring Sibford its own Panto The Snow Queen based on the original story by Hans Christian Andersen. There will be just one performance and the number of tickets available will be limited; Adults £10, Children £8, Family (2+2) £28. Look out for the posters and flyers and book early.
