Sibford news

Sibford continues to remember “our lads” and their church. The villagers of Sibford who earlier in the year had made a pilgrimage to all the graves of the soldiers from the village killed in World War 1 arranged a curry lunch in Sibford Village Hall on Remembrance Sunday 8th November in aid of the repairs to the church clock. Supported by a raffle and an auction of promises, enthusiastically and professionally conducted by Paul Clancy, himself an auctioneer and resident of Burdrop, raised over £1,700.

A highly successful event attended by over 100 people. Delicious cooking by Sarah and Lydia Thomas and Charlotte Bird and Michael Drake had also arranged an imaginative exhibition of WW1 exhibits including original letters, books and films.
