PIVA concert: On Saturday 21st October we were treated to the world premiere of Piva's new show as we explored the music of Elizabethan London's high and low places, all played on authentic instruments of the time. The audience enjoyed examining the huge variety of amazing instruments and were enthralled by the wonderful music that they made.

Both the band and the concert team are already talking about a future return of Piva. In the meantime we have some more exciting live music planned for you next year, so stay tuned for further details. Profits from the Piva concert were divided between the Church and the Swalcliffe Woodland Play Area, which now needs serious financial support.

Harvest Supper: Swalcliffe Church came truly alive on the evening of 28th October when 95 villagers packed the aisles - literally - to partake in the traditional harvest supper. It was a logistical challenge but the organising team pulled it off (almost!) seamlessly. Our 3 local farmers, the Coopers, Taylors and Sancroft-Bakers again generously donated the cold meats for the carvery and a large number of volunteer cooks provided the delicious soup, roasted vegetables, jacket potatoes and fruit crumbles for dessert. There was a short musical interlude from Misha Kovalov, a Latvian guitarist and singer, and a raffle with gifts donated by villagers boosted the fund raising to an impressive £1300, all of which goes towards the maintenance of the church building.
