Swalcliffe news

The Boldwood concert on 10th November was another success in every way.  The audience were treated to some delightful English tunes skillfully played on fiddles, accordion and on our lovely old organ.  Compliments have been flowing in from both audience and the band who would love to come back and play for us again.  Thanks to all those who helped and to everyone who came to make it such a success. Just under £500 was raised towards the upkeep of the church.

Meanwhile we are now planning our next concert on Saturday April 6th when Purcell's Polyphonic Party, a string trio led by Vicki Swan, will treat us to the astonishing sounds of the nyckelharpa, the Swedish keyed fiddle.

It's that time of year again! Friday 21st December at 6.30pm: How the Kings saw Things. Carols on the Green, followed by Nativity and Carols in Church. Welcome drink and nibbles. We need lots of Kings with CROWNS, Angels READY DRESSED, and Mary and Joseph so please let us know if you would like to take part in what is a lot of fun as well as telling the wonderful Christmas story. Phone Gay, Ronald or Virginia if you would like to join the cast. This year with a raised stage! (As well as raised blood pressure for some of us!) Natalie #2 the Lamb will be there.
