Tadmarton news

The Church Council held their meeting on Wednesday 14th June. Items discussed included: ideas for an appropriate commemoration to the late Mr Richard Asser, a long serving Council Member; kitchen refurbishment; and fundraising events to come.

The Cream Tea held in Lindsey and Rolf’s garden on 2nd July was a glorious event. The weather was kind to us and we raised £640 which will be used in the refurbishment of the church kitchen. Many thanks to Rolf and Lindsey, plus all who helped to make this a very enjoyable occasion.

The Scarecrow competition and concert was on the 22nd July. Our thanks to Shirley and Chris for the organisation of both the concert and competition. Our thanks also to Jane for the competition prizes. Winners will be published in our next edition.

An Auction of Promises on Saturday 19th August in The Lampet Arms at 8pm will include many items worth bidding for and all proceeds will help us to improve the Church kitchen area. Our grateful thanks to Des and Phyllis for hosting this event and to Chris for all his organisation and compilation of the items for auction.

The Harvest Festival Supper on the 1st October will be held in the Village Hall after the evening service. Please let Shirley Wackrill know if you would like to come to the supper: tel 780 596. It will be good food and an auction of harvest fruits, etc.

Saturday October 21st is the planned date for our famous Pudding Club in the Village Hall; several puddings to sample and good company to enjoy.
