The March 28th a talk on the Broughton Roman Villa was a most interesting evening and very informative. Little did we know that this area had so many Roman settlements.

On April 9th the funeral of the well known local farmer Rex Taylor was held in Broughton church. The service was taken by Rev. Ronald Hawkes.

The APCM was held in St. Mary’s House on April 9th at 7.30. The elections for the office of Churchwardens took place and Andrew Taylor and Neil Howarth were re-elected for the coming year. The officers and PCC Were elected en bloc; also the sidespersons rota was adopted. The new electoral roll was presented; it numbers 29.
