Tadmarton

If you want to know why we hang up stockings by the fireplace at Christmas (never pillow cases on the end of the bed, surely?!), or why pawnbrokers have three golden balls hanging outside their shops, then make sure you come to this service in Tadmarton.

St Nicolas, as I am sure you know, morphed into Santa Claus who traditionally wore green robes, until the dreaded Coca Cola company decided that red looked better in its adverts! In northern and Scandinavian countries Santa Claus still visits boys and girls on his feast day December 6th, bringing toys and sweets for those who have been good, and a lump of coal for the less well behaved!

With candles, gold coins (chocolate!) and bishops’ mitres to enjoy, as well as carols and a drama. All ages warmly welcomed. Seasonal refreshments will follow.

Collection taken for The Children's Society.
